How does the trademark claim process work?

Note: This article covers Melbourne IT DPS customers only.

In order to have access to the trademark claim process, you must have a trademark which is registered with the trademark clearing house (TMCH).

There are two main aspects to the trademark claim process;

1. When a third party attempts to register a new gtld domain matching your TMCH trademark, they receive a warning stating that their registration could potentially breach a trademark. This is a deterrent to prevent third parties from registering those domains.
2. If they proceed with the domain registration, you will be notified that a new gtld domain matching your trademark has been registered.
