What is My Domain Password?
In order to authorise a domain name transfer or change of ownership, a domain password must be provided. This may also be referred to as an EPP code or auth code. The exact method to obtain your domain password may differ depending on your registrar. The instructions below outline how to obtain your domain password through Melbourne IT DPS.

If your domain is currently registered with us, your domain password may be found within your parent-level admin panel;

  1. Log into your parent-level admin panel
  2. Hover over ‘Domains’, then click ‘Manage’
  3. Click the relevant domain name
  4. Click ‘Domain Name’ on the left tab
  5. For .au domains: The domain password will be viewable after selecting ‘View’ next to the ‘Current domain password’ heading
  6. For other domains: The domain password will be viewable after selecting ‘Show’ next to the ‘EPP Password’ heading
    Some domain passwords will not be visible in your Console, depending on the domain extension. If you have followed the above steps and cannot view your domain password, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

.au domain name (.com.au, .net.au, .org.au)
Use this link to send your domain password to the current registrant email address. This email may take up to 2 hours to send.

If the registrant contact email address is incorrect or inaccessible, you will need to amend this email address to receive your domain password. Please complete the Password Recovery Form online and forward it to [email protected].

To complete this form, perform a whois check on your domain name here. Information pertaining to the domain name registrant will need to be entered (note: this may be different from the registrant contact). Depending on the entity type of registrant, we require additional documentation as well;

  • Sole trader - We require photo ID of the registrant, and the desired registrant email address.
  • Company – We require an official ASIC extract of the registrant entity (this may be obtained from the ASIC website - search your ABN/ACN, scroll down and obtain your ‘Company Extract – Current Company Information’). We also require photo ID of one of the directors / proprietors listed on the extract.
