Move my domain back to my reseller?

When a domain name managed by a Melbourne IT reseller expires, control reverts to Melbourne IT if the domain remains unrenewed for 2 weeks. If this is the case and you want the reseller to continue to manage the domain for you, you will need to provide the reseller with the registry key for the domain. Once they have the registry key they will use their internal systems to re-add the domain to your account. As these systems vary between resellers you will need to make contact with them to confirm the applicable timeframe.

The registry key can be recovered automatically by using the password retreival tool on the main page of the MelbourneIt website. Click the tab marked "MyAccount" at the top of the screen and select the link marked "I forgot my password". enter the domain name and the registry key will be emailed to the admin address on file.

Please note that the domain must be renewed (either through your reseller or through Melbourne IT) within 40 days of expiry (for GTLD domains) or it will enter it's redemption phase. Please see How do I get my domain name out of redemption​? for details
